Filled Part 4

The Holy Spirit works in believers' lives not through instant perfection but through progressive transformation. There's an ongoing battle between our old nature (the flesh) and the new nature given by the Spirit—a battle we can't win through willpower alone. The fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) grows naturally when we're connected to Christ, just as fruit grows naturally from a healthy tree. This transformation happens through surrender to the Spirit, not through self-effort, and occurs incrementally as we embrace our identity as God's children.
