Step 1

Know where your money goes

The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get. 

Proverbs 21:20

For 30 days record where you spend every dollar. Be accurate and honest. Record everything.

​

This is where you get a clear picture of where you are currently spending your money. 

 

Here are few way to accomplish this...

​

  • Online Banking. If you use a debit card the itemized list in your online banking is a great starting point.

​

  • Write it Down. Buy a notebook to keep in your pocket or purse or download an expense sheet like THIS ONE or THIS ONE.

​

  • Use an App.  Any app that gives you quick access to notes or lists is perfect for tracking expenses. 

Step 2

Plan where your money goes

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. 

Proverbs 21:5

We know budgeting sounds like a nightmare. It's not as hard as you think. It's really just comparing income to expenses.  

​

This is where you decide what's important. Create a plan and stick to it.

Let

your money go

Be on guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. Luke 12:15

​

God has a plan for you to give to others.  

​

When considering where to give we recommend prioritize giving across three major categories.

​

  • Church. The bible calls us to give as much as we can to our local church so that we can care for people and change lives in our community. You can do that by clicking here

  • Community. There are so many local needs all around you --in your neighborhood, sports fields, work places and more. Pray for God to show you where you can be generous.

 

  • Global. The bible calls us to spread the gospel throughout the world. There are many global mission opportunities, child sponsorship and more to consider. We love The Hands & Feet Project in Haiti. Check them out.
