Week 2. Monday: It’s All In Your Head

PRAY: Ask God to speak to you from His Word.

READ: Philippians 2:5-6

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

UNDERSTAND: get a deeper understanding of the key words

Begin by underlining nouns with a single line, double underline verbs, and circle descriptive words.
Make a list of the key words/phrases and think about what they mean.

Snapshot: In this passage Paul is teaching us about the kind of attitude we should have toward one another. In our relationships we should follow the example of Christ. The first step in loving our neighbor as ourselves is to have a Christ-like mindset. Christ was God in the flesh but He did not use that to His own advantage. He laid down His life for our advantage.

Takeaway: Believers are called to lay themselves down for the sake of others.
