"When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them." Luke 2:17
When you obey God you get a chance to see that He is who He says He is. Once you see God at work you gain confidence. The next logical step is to tell people.
This process is true of other things in your life. When you get a new fishing reel, shotgun, pair of shoes, a new vehicle --you first try it out. Once you see how good it works --you tell everyone.
Why is it so different with our faith?
The shepherds "spread the word concerning what had been told them." They told their story and people were amazed. There is a great story in John 9.
Read JOHN 9. Jesus heals a man who was blind from birth. The religious people of the time saw Jesus as a threat to their way of life so they were always plotting and scheming to catch him doing something wrong. They called the man in to question him and attempt to make him say something to condemn Jesus. The man responded, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” (John 9:25)
Sometimes spreading the word about Jesus in our world is as simple as telling people how Jesus changed our life.
