Friday: Satisfied

PRAY: Ask God to speak to you from His Word.

READ: Ecclesiastes 5:18-20

18 This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot.

19 Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. 20 They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.

UNDERSTAND: get a deeper understanding of the key words

2. Make a list of the key words/phrases and think about what they mean.

Snapshot: In this passage Solomon once again tells us that we should enjoy the life God has given us. So many people have bought into the lie that “life sucks and that’s just the way it is.” Sure, sometimes life sucks. But if you feel that way all the time, maybe you’re doing it wrong. Finding satisfaction, contentment, and the ability to enjoy life is a gift from God.
