Real Mature (W1D3) Sharing in God's Grace

Week 1. Wednesday: Sharing in God’s Grace

PRAY: Ask God to speak to you from His Word.

READ: Philippians 1:7-8

7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

UNDERSTAND: get a deeper understanding of the key words

  1. Begin by underlining nouns with a single line, double underline verbs, and circle descriptive words.

  2. Make a list of the key words/phrases and think about what they mean.

Snapshot: In this passage Paul talks about his imprisoned state. It is interesting to see that Paul refers to his situation as sharing in God’s grace. For Paul, whatever his circumstances he saw every situation as part of God’s plan. This is a big part of what it means to be spiritually mature. As we grow, we begin to understand that God has a purpose behind every circumstance and situation. That kind of maturity will help us get through the difficult times in life.

APPLY: What is this passage calling me to do?

What difficult circumstances have you faced?

What did you learn from those difficult times?

How did your situation help to grow your faith? PRAY: Ask God to help you trust in His plan no matter the circumstances.
