#getoveryourselfie (W3D2) Pure and Blameless

Week 3. Tuesday: Pure and Blameless

PRAY: Ask God to speak to you from His Word.

READ: Philippians 2:14-15a

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”

UNDERSTAND: get a deeper understanding of the key words

  1. Begin by underlining nouns with a single line, double underline verbs, and circle descriptive words.

  2. Make a list of the key words/phrases and think about what they mean.

Snapshot: In this passage Paul tells us not to grumble and argue so that we can become blameless and pure. It’s interesting that Paul connects grumbling and arguing to being blameless. We usually think of complaining as a trivial act that’s not such a big deal. But Paul says if we choose not to grumble and argue we will be seen as blameless by those around us. Imagine what the world would think of the church if we stopped grumbling, arguing, and fighting with everyone.

Takeaway: Christians should be known for what we’re for, not what we’re against.

APPLY: What is this passage calling me to do?

Would you consider yourself to be blameless and pure? Why or why not?

What is keeping you from being blameless and pure?

PRAY: Ask God to help you become more pure and blameless.
