#getoveryourselfie (W5D5) Transformed

Week 5. Friday: Transformed

PRAY: Ask God to speak to you from His Word.

READ: Philippians 3:20-21

20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

UNDERSTAND: get a deeper understanding of the key words

  1. Begin by underlining nouns with a single line, double underline verbs, and circle descriptive words.

  2. Make a list of the key words/phrases and think about what they mean.

Snapshot: In this passage Paul shows a contrast of true and false believers. Those with their minds set on earthly things are destined for destruction. Those with their minds set on knowing Christ have their eternal citizenship in heaven. In the meantime, while we wait on Christ to return, God will transform us from the inside out to be more like Christ. This is the goal of the Christian life, to be more like Jesus.

APPLY: What is this passage calling me to do?

Read Romans 12:1-2

What does it mean to be a living sacrifice?

In what ways do we tend to conform to the pattern of this world?

According to Romans 12:2, how are we going to be transformed?

PRAY: Ask God to help you not to conform to the world but be transformed.
