Light of the World (W1D3) Light

In John's account of the Christmas story there are no details --no angels or mangers or animals or wise men. But like the star in the traditional Christmas story John makes reference to light. Jesus is the light of the world.

John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.

Why do you think Jesus is called "the light"?
